In a move many anticipated the Department of Justice DoJ is poised to finally take court action for what it calls ‘collusion’ between Apple and at least two major publishers.
How this impacts Indie and small press operations remains to be seen but some expect any initial price reductions if Apple were to lose could be made up in user fees or other hidden charges. Also noteworthy is the likelihood of the DoJ also expanding its case to other Apple store offerings.

I really don’t know what I think about all this. But I did just read this letter from the CEO of Macmillan.
